| It must be the German translator. In the origional (English) Wind Singer, the ages of Bowman and Kestral are not mentioned (I'm sure of this, as I've read it mere times than is sensible and also remember checking to see what their ages were a while ago), but they seem about 10. It says that Pinto is 2 years old (it may say so directly somewhere, I can't remember, but I can remember "at each desk sat a two year old" in the bit about her first test, from which we can deduce that she is two). In slaves of the mastery, it says at the beginning that Pinto is "seven years old", and that Kestrel is 15 (and four days - Mumpo has been counting!) and that five years have gone by since their adventure. This is all completely consistent -are you sure your version says the twins are 13 in the 1st book and 16 in the 2nd? |
