Hello! Is anyone here?
Anyone visited the last two Wind on Fire messageboards?
Which is you're favourite book/series?
Mine is deffinitely the Wind on Fire trilogy, particularly Slaves of the Mastery.

Hello! a sign of life! I've saved the URL as well. I had rather given up hope that anyone would apperear.
This website is linked to William Nicholson's homepage, under the writing about The wind singer. There used to be another WOF messageboard, ages ago, that was quite a lot more lively, and I was a member. But I stopped talking on it for a while, and when I came back, it had been delaeated (someone had mucked it up by spamming repeated posts, so they gave up on it). There was someone called Lucy (username KH99/ danerys) who basically singlehandedly kept it going because she posted all the time. There was briefly a replacement messageboasrd, made by someone or other, but everyone soon stopped posting (KH99 got a new favourite book, she said). I still have some of their e-mails, but I don't know if the e-mails still work or if the people who used to be members are still interested.

The wind on fire trilogy are still some of my all time favourite books, particularly Slaves of the Mastery.

You know, I didn't see the link on William's website. I have been on it lots but it has never been clear that there was a messageboard. Obviously no one else knows about it, it's not in a good place! I was thinking that maybe if someone sent a message to him telling him? But than I wasn't sure cause it might sound rude. I mean if this is independant after all......

I have looked for a message board for ages and I have no idea how I finally managed to come across this one. Seeing when you posted I thought that you had well and truly given up! At least there are two of us now... Smile

Surely if your website has some good moderators they can tackle trouble makers? I don't understand why it was shut down, there are so many ways you can protect your website. There are many options, I have had problems on my websites but they are easily dealt with.

It would be nice if the others rejoined so we could all have a chat.

I would link this website back to mine, but I don't know if anyone would be interested. It seems unlikely, we really need fans of William and his work. I don't know if my members read books....lol

I'm not sure of the admin of the site would like me to link it either. I don't see why not but you never know....

I linked this website back to mine, but they are completely unrelated to books or William Nicholson. They are roleplaying so.....

But it looks unlikely

Hi Larka and Sadako! How did you choose those names?

Sadako, I've sent an e-mail to the 3 people I've still got the e-mails of from the old messageboard, I've no idea if they'll reply, but they might.
As to asking William Nicholson, I'm sure he wouldn't mind - there used to be a questions and answers section on his website and he answered all sorts of questions quite cheerfully (ranging from things like "what was your main inspiration for 'The Wind Singer'?" to " do you pick your nose?". Whethere there's anything he can do about publisising the messageboard or not is another matter.
The old board may have been destroyed because it got too big so they started recruiting members as moderators. As to telling people I know, they'd say their too old for WOF or they don't see the point of messageboards.

Larka, Hi! My favourite book in the WOF triolgy is probably Slaves of the Mastery. I don't think they should make a film of it though - it would be bound to be worse than the book and would spoil imageinging it. We had an argument about that ont he last messageboeard! Lucie (KH99) wanted to be Kestrel too, but William Nicholsen said he didn't want a film made and anyway, sorry but she couldn't be in it.

The thing is, films can't be true to books, because everyone imagines books differently - for instance, how should Sisi look in a film - and also it's much harder to explain what's going on, what people are thinking, and why they do what the do in films than it is in books, and to choose which charactor's point of veiw to see things from. For example that possibly explains why Willy Wonka seems much creepier in the film of Charlie and the Chocolate factory than in the book. In the book he is seen through Charlie's eyes, and the words used to describe him make him seem friendly. In the film, he seems suspicious, because we see him from our own point of veiw, with the real world as comparison rather than Charlie's world of a children's book, and so Mr. Wonka seems rather mentallly unstable rather than fun and jolly.

LUCIE'S HERE!!!!

THE PARTY CAN START!!!!

God, I should not get into a messageboard again...I've got my AS' this month.

Updates: I rock. That's all you need to know. I'm an actor and singer and I will be in the West End in the next ten years. Les Mis, to be exact.

Seriously, my obsession with Les Mis is bordering on a disease. It was New Year's Res to see it every month this year-I've succeeded so far...

Oh, WOF...how I miss thee. Slaves Of The Mastery all the way.

NO FILM!!!!

That's all for now.

Hey doame, how are you my dearie????

Hello Lucie!
*big hug*
How are you????
I am OK but I have AS this month. However this may be a reason to get into messageboards again, to keep me sane!

I am currently crazy about chickens - more about that later, I have to go out now-
anyways, great to see (well, not see as such but you know what I mean!) you again!
